This morning, Aéropostale intern and TikTok phenom, Déjà Clark, sent an internal email that gives an unfiltered look at the new back-to-school collection she co-designed. From super baggy jeans and low-rise staples to perfectly fitted tops that scream “first day of school” fit – this Déjà for Aéropostale collection can’t be missed.

Teen TikTok sensation and Aéropostale intern Deja Clark will launch a co-designed collection, available exclusively in the Aero app July 16-17 followed by in-store and online drop July 18.
The brand team had already started drafting a formal press release announcement for the drop, but then realized…why bother when Déjà already said it best herself? Check out her e-mail to Aéropostale’s corporate staff below for all the details:

hey guys,
ok so i’m looking at the samples one more time and i actually can’t believe we pulled this off!
later today, we announce I’m not only aero’s intern, i created my own collection. slayyyyy.
Just in time for summer hangouts and back-to-school – the super baggy jeans are probably my favorite part of the drop. they are so ME. there were a lot of opinions involved. maybe too many. way too many.
and so many meetings! All six washes have that perfectly broken-in feel, and the fit is exactly how I wanted it: oversized, relaxed, and just the right amount of dramatic.
same with the super low-rise pieces. it’s so me.
the micro skirts. the shorts. the tiny tops. everything is amazingggggg without doing too much.
they’re the kind of styles i always end up reaching for because they make getting dressed feel effortless…which was basically the goal for the entire collection.
if it didn’t feel like something i’d grab on a random day, it didn’t make the cut.
It’s really the stuff my friends and i actually want to wear. that sounds obvious but working with you all behind the scenes I know how hard it is to get it right. And I really think we did!! 🙂
anyway, I just met with the marketing team and here’s what’s happening:
- july 9 – announce collab in the intern diaries episode
- july 16–17 — drop via aero app exclusive access
- july 18 — on-sale online and in stores everywhere
- july 25 – meet & greet at aero store in nyc
the collection includes 71 styles ranging from denim to tops and apparel, with prices starting at $19.95 because it was important to me that people could build full Déjà Clark collection outfits.
also, Intern Diaries (I hope people are surprised! I heard that it’s already getting tons of views) which means everyone gets to see the real process. the good ideas. the bad ideas. me changing my mind 14 times. the other aero interns, the company leaders. my friends and family. all of it.
honestly it feels less like “brand content” and more like someone leaked our group chat. just wait until they find out what we’re cookin’ up later this month in new york with fans.
The PR team asked for a quote – what do you guys think about:
“getting dressed is chaotic. you throw on what feels right, what makes you feel confident, and then you go live your life and hit your next stop. that’s what i wanted this collection to be — pieces you’ll actually wear, not just pieces that look good on a mood board.”
ok i’m done…we’re sooooo back.
xoxo,
Déjà
